Studied at the Conservatory in Ostrava with Miroslav Němec and at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Prof. Jaroslav Motlík. He worked as a solo violist of the Prague Symphony Orchestra. He was a soloist of the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK. A significant milestone came in 1981, when he won the International Viola Competition in Markneukirchen and became a sought-after soloist. He collaborated with many artistic personalities – Josef Suk, Jan Panenka, Josef Hala, Dagmar Pecková, the Talich, Kocian and Pražák Quartets. He has performed solo with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of the Capital City of Prague and the Czech Republic. Prague FOK, Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra Ostrava, etc.

Pěrušek’s extensive performing art is captured on more than 120 CDs and 450 radio and television recordings. He is currently making recordings of outstanding works of Czech and world viola literature. His CDs have attracted attention – Masterpieces for viola and double bass, Beautiful Viola, Russian Viola, Bohuslav Martinů’s Viola, Praise of the Viola, Unknown Czech Viola, Viola of Czech Emigration.

He is one of the founding members of the Stamic Quartet. The ensemble won the International String Quartet Competition in Salzburg (1986) organized by EBU-OIRT. In more than 36 years of activity, the Stamic Quartet has performed literally all over the world (more than 2500 concerts) and has won numerous awards: The Chamber Society Prize (1987), the Grand Prix du Disque de l’Academie Charles Cros Paris (1988, 1991), the Golden Tuning Prize of Diapason magazine (1993), the Golden Song Prize for the recording of Chinese melodies (1995), the Czech Chamber Council Prize for the ensemble performance of Alois Hába’s quartets at the Prague Spring Festival 1997, the Diapason Decouverte award for the ensemble recording of J. B. Foerster, awarded by Diapason magazine (2010).

Since 1990 he has been teaching at the HAMU in Prague. In 2006 he was appointed professor of viola.
